Mitt Romney's latest ad features a message geared toward Ohio manufacturing communities. President Obama's campaign has appealed to manufacturing-oriented voters too.
Frankly, I think it shows the campaigns get it. Ohio's swing votes will swing in places and neighborhoods where even if you aren't employed in manufacturing there's a good chance a neighbor on either side of you is.
Manufacturing matters in Ohio and so it has to matter to these candidates. It's that simple.
