Day 1,731 of a 45-Day Permit Process

Yesterday, the Port Authority marked day 1,731 of a 45-day permit process.  This is for a permit first applied for on February 21, 2006 to impact a small patch of wetlands.  That permit put us on the "federal hook" and we remained on it until yesterday.

The U.S. Civil War lasted 1,490 days from the first shots at Fort Sumter to Jefferson Davis' surrender on May 10, 1865.

The U.S. involvement in World War II lasted 1,248 days from Pearl Harbor to V-E Day.

We got to stop counting at 1,731 days though.  That's because, even though we still have some final, close out details, we received official word yesterday afternoon that "the terms of the Memorandum of Agreement. . .have been satisfied."

The federal hook has been extracted.
