Bike-to-Work Week Diary - The Test Drive

I can't recall the last time I rode anything more than a stationary bike.  I might have done it once or twice in college, but if I did that was 21+ years ago.  I might have ridden it in high school, but if I did what was 25+ years ago.

More than likely, the last time I rode a bike was before I got my driver's license--28 years ago.  I'm ashamed to admit my weight was half of what it is now too.

Fast forward.  Now it is Tri-City Bike-to-Work Week.  I've been saying what a great week this is to show off the recreational trails in Licking County that double as a way to commute to and from work.

You gotta put your body where your mouth is.

I'm going to self-report on my personal Bike-to-Work Week participation this week here on my blog.  I'm not sure how many people genuinely want to know what a 250-pound guy is doing riding a bike, but the more I talk about it the more I self-motivate through shame to do this.

I'm going to do this.

Today was the test drive.  I parked at the designated park-n-ride and drove to the half-way point and back.

It wasn't easy for me.  I'd be lying if I said it was.

But the test drive is complete.
