A Top 100 Hospital, Again

I've lived in small towns most of my life and they all have the same odd tradition--disparage your local hospital and always believe the hospital somewhere else is better.

The truth is often just the opposite.  I've found, in reality, all of the small, local hospitals where I've lived to be excellent providers of care.  That's very true in Licking County too.

Our own Licking Memorial Hospital announced yesterday and then relayed to a 175+ person audience of community leaders this morning that they have achieved an unmatched 11 times named to the Top 100 Hospitals among 3,000 hospitals in the nation.

That's a big deal.

We are lucky, and should be proud, to have a hospital system that achieves the level of excellence that our own local hospital does.  We should also strive to keep it local.  That's the key.
