On The Boy Scouts

Rotarian-extraordinaire, Bob McGaughy, was honored with the Good Scout Award last night here in Licking County.  I'm sure he deserved it.  Bob is a deserving fellow.

I was amused at his reason for not staying in the Scouts as a youth.  The article on his award cited his failure to pass a swimming test as a reason to get out early.

I was amused because of my similar reason.  I couldn't get the first aid merit badge and dropped out before my third Summer Camp.

Bob didn't see it, in his adult life, as reflecting on the Scouts.  I agree. The Scouts are a great program.
