Saying, "Manufacturing is an increasingly prodigious driver of tech jobs," Joel Kotkin cites Columbus #3 and labels the region a "Midwest standout" on a list of cities experiencing tech job growth. His latest Forbes research-translated-to-cities-lists validates the growth linkage between manufacturing and technology.
The standout thing is that neither Silicon Valley (#17) nor Austin (#24) cracked the top of the list. Kotkin added, "Games and dot-coms are not the only path to technical employment growth."
