Figuring out benchmarks and metrics on the value of social media takes a social media tool of its own. 
Think about it.  
Facebook can't place its own value.  LinkedIn can't either.  
A third party has more credibility.  
I recommend Peer Index.  See http://www.peerindex.com/. 
Anyone on Facebook, Twitter, Blogger, or LinkedIn can see where they measure up.  Notice I said "or" as one doesn't have to be on all of them to see how they compare.  Check it out.
