Joel Kotkin's latest piece comparing the impact of higher profile "tech" like the intangible dot com industry to the lower profile manufacturing and STEM-skills industries is another must-read. STEM is science, technology, engineering, and math.
The second half of the title says it all: "STEM's quieter side of tech offers more upside for America." The Columbus MSA, of which Liking County is a part, ranks 16th for the last 10 years of STEM growth and beats some more conventionally-thought-of-areas in all measures.
