Fascinating lunch discussion at Rotary today. Three Newark Rotarians shared their personal experiences with contracting Polio. Rotary is known worldwide for its efforts to eradicate polio. It was appropriate to hear these stories.
That was the front story and fascinating as that was it was the side story that struck me.
John Weaver, a Rotarian with 50+ years of perfect attendance and almost 60 years of membership, spoke about not only his Polio experience.
He recited meeting Helen Keller as well as one of the famed Notre Dame Four Horsemen during his experience.
Fascinating.
