A Call For a National Manufacturing Strategy

Who will answer the call?

The International Technology & Innovation Foundation has created "A Charter for Revitalizing American Manufacturing."  It's a call for a national manufacturing strategy.

I like it.

The recommendations mirror ones I've written about in this column.  Like my stance, it calls for embracing manufacturing, recasting tax policy, and investing in workforce training.  It adds innovation, entrepreneurship, financing, and trade to the mix.

I also like it that Newark native and International Economic Development Council President Jeff Finkle is one of the original signatories on the charter.  Good call, Jeff.
