My Old Dusty Briefcase
It sits under the printer table gathering dust in one corner of my office.
Briefcases are about to become to the workplace what records and cassette tapes have become to the music world--something you have to explain to the younger generations. A throwback.
Once a year or so, it goes with me to DC so I can easily carry documents and trinkets with me from place to place. Even then, it's a hassle because it is one more thing to check through security and one more thing for which to keep track. I hope for the day when I can go all-electronic. Maybe next year?
I'll bring it to an out-of-state conference or two. Even then, it's glorified luggage. I wouldn't be caught dead carrying it from panel to panel.
