. . . the Cleveland Indians played only .500 ball the rest of the season? They would win 88 games. That likely would still be good enough to win their division.

The second-place Detroit Tigers, to get to 88 wins, would have to go .551 the rest of the way.  They've only gone .527 to date.

If the Indians could keep their current pace for the next four months, they'd win 101 games--doable, but more than anyone could have expected.

With a third of the season now behind them, the Indians are looking like the real deal. Exciting.
