Guest Post: A View on Local Government Consolidation

The columnist is out for a few days so a take on some guest blogs is in order.  Enjoy!

Today, we hear from Alex Keleman with a view on local government consolidation in Ohio, a topic that has brought the unlikely marriage of Greater Ohio (self proclaimed as "Ohio's Smart Growth Organization") and the Buckeye Institute to propose less local governments.

Alex is a regular reader and commenter on this columnist's suburban-oriented blogs.

Alex, factually, challenges the concept that regionalized governments result in lower costs.  He also adds, "Consolidation advocates only seek to redistribute our assets and our tax base to urban control."
